Angell Expeditions now offers Guided Astro Photography.
We are located in one of the darkest places in the United States, and part of the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve

For a guided session, no experience needed, just curiosity, and some coffee. If you have a favorite constellation or star or just a special part of the sky and would like a guided photography session with an accomplished astro photographer, schedule with us.
If you have your own equipment, and want to do your own photo sessions, come stay at the St Joseph Church, and bring some friends. You can set up close by; we have power and wifi dedicated for it.
Modern astro photography is vastly different than it used to be. Using our telescope and system, you and your guide can communicate remotely, decide on what you would like to photograph, and set it all up. You may be staying at the Church nearby, you might be in Terlingua, or Lajitas, or maybe far away. The process requires a clear sky of course, and some photos take hours to capture, but not hours of attention.
Your guide will work with you to select your bit of the sky, configure things, and then hours later will email your photos to you.

“This is one of my favorite targets in the night sky. And it is very clear from the Big Bend area of Texas. You’re looking at three different spiral galaxies. The main galaxy M 81 is Bode’s galaxy in the constellation of Ursa Major, a.k.a. The Big Dipper. Located roughly 12,000,000 light years from earth. That’s a very big number!”
