Snake Snack

9 Foot Bull Snake

Rare photos of a very large bull snake in Big Bend that caught a full grown squirrel.

After constricting it, she dropped the dead squirrel to the ground, followed it down using the plywood for traction, and ate it.

The plywood next to the skeleton (Bob), is a 4×8 sheet.

Our guest is longer.

Snakes play a vital role in keeping the rodent population in check, and are much better than traps and baits. Bull snakes, also called Gopher snakes, are non poisonous, and are harmless to people, though don’t mess with them since they can bite if you annoy them enough.
