Working with Studios

Angell Expeditions and crew have worked on many commercial film and advertising projects, providing support, scouting, and talent.

The National Geographic Travel video called “Embracing the Unknown in Big Bend National Park” with National Geographic Photographer Filipe DeAndrade scouts for wildlife in Texas’ biggest national park. See the video and article. Angell Expeditions provided scouting, transport, catering, and support for this project.

Some of the clients we have worked with are PBS, CNN, Hulu, CW network, NPR, Carhartt, Texas Highways, Discover Channel, NHK World Japan, Voyageurs du Monde, Lufthansa, AAA’s Texas Journey magazine, and Southern Living magazine. Photo shoots for products including clothing and outdoor sports are amazing in Big Bend.

Recent (2022 and 2023) clients include National Geographic, GMC, PBS Wild Rivers with Tillie, and Rivian Trucks.

We were recently featured on the Weather Channel for the drought conditions affecting the Rio Grande, and TurtleBox Audio produced a fun Devils River adventure piece featuring their product in a light touch way.

We know the best locations in the Big Bend for outdoor and action shots and have a crew of energetic guides to showcase your products!

The client is responsible for obtaining any required permits and we recommend arranging for them in advance. In addition, drones are prohibited in the National Parks, including Big Bend National Park.

This was filmed in 2005 with multiple scenes in Redford (our HQ), and St Joseph Church and the surrounding area.

Disclaimer – Angell Expeditions wasn’t involved in this one, since we started up the following year, but we have helped several others.
